Intro to Resin

Have you been wanting to play with resin but have no idea where to start? Join us for this 2-hour class and get the rundown on some of the basics.
We will provide the materials needed to make two coasters from molds. We encourage you to bring some of your own elements to incorporate into your pieces (smaller, flattened objects work best!) We will go through the resin process, talk about design, mix epoxy and pour, and work through any troubleshooting. After the resin sets for 24 hours, you will have two beautiful pieces to bring home and enjoy.

About the artist:
Alyssa Haley is a creative maker & beauty professional based in Hartford. Her studio, Born & Bred, is housed in our building at 56 Arbor Street. She enjoys giving new life to things that may be bound for the trash and also has a deep love for meaningful keepsakes and her work focuses on preserving them & keeping them long past their lifespan. Alyssa is a mixed media artist and has been working with Resin for 5 years. She specializes in organic matter preservation and makes earrings, pendants and home accessories using florals, insects, natural elements and found objects. She also offers bridal and memorial bouquet preservation as well as custom pieces for those who want to keep personal events, memories and memorials for themselves or gift to others.
