Discover the magic of working with natural dyes! Experiment with and practice bundle dyeing, hapa zome and solar dye using raw natural dye materials, fresh plants and food waste on cotton and silk.
We will discuss the basics of natural dyeing, including how to prepare your fabric with a mordant to ensure the colors hold over time.
Each student will leave with 3 dyed pieces, a solar dye jar and a detailed, instructional handout.

About the Artist:
Raised in a family of artists, crafters and makers, Tara Harrison has been playing with fabric since childhood. She is an artist and elementary art teacher with a passion for sustainability, fiber arts and gardening.
