FREE HART CLOSET
Welcome to FREE HART Closet, a free art supply shop located in Hartford, CT. Founded in 2022, FREE HART was created to make art more accessible to adults. We believe that art is a human right as important to our survival as food, water, shelter, and safety. In addition to offering high quality art supplies we want our space to cultivate opportunities to connect with each other.
We welcome organizers, activists, creatives, educators, and everyone in between to use our space for intimate gatherings, workshops, and meetings. We are a project of Mutual Aid Hartford and a member of the Free Art Supply Network.

WE ARE MOVING
In 2023, you all helped us raise enough money to cover rent at FREE HART’s Parkville location for one year. To ensure the security and stability of this offering, we will be moving the shop in to Semilla Cafe + Studio. Semilla is a woman-owned, black-owned, small business that shared the same cultural value of stewarding community with and for creatives. FREE HART will be closed for shopping starting September 16. We plan to reopen in our new space in early October.
